3 March 2019
The Superbook team held our 4th Teacher’s training and vision casting in Kuching on the 3rd of March. Good News Fellowship Kuching, one of our church partners were very generous in providing us the venue for hosting the training which started from 4.30pm. This training has the largest participations so far, with 69 participants from across 13 churches in Kuching. We had three churches who were already our church partners prior to the event, namely Good News Fellowship Kuching, Calvary Family Church Lundu, and BEM Shalom.
The Superbook team felt honoured to be given the opportunity of casting our vision for such a big crowd from various churches in Kuching. It was also a humbling experience for the facilitators conducting the training, as many of the participants are sunday school teachers who have been faithfully serving in the children’s ministry, some of which were more than a decade. The vision casting focuses on the need to disciple our next generation who are digital native, meaning they are well versed with using gadgets such as smartphones and tablets. This means that in order to capture the interest of the children, digital media would be more effective and Superbook provides that.
The class simulation conducted was “Let my people go!”, which was about the story of Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt. After each part of the training conducted, the participants were given some time to try out the teaching material among their groups. Participants that were from the same church were encouraged to be in the same group. Plenty of serious discussions and laughter was observed of the groups and the participants navigated the the teachers guide together, some even for the very first time.
During the games session, a relay game was conducted to signify the endless toils that the Israelites had to undergo while being slaves in Egypt. The game involving the carrying of a pail with some load and also shouting out the Supertruth that they have learnt from the lesson earlier. Our wonderful volunteers from the crowd compete against each other during the games session and were all given gift bags for their participation.
At the end of the training, the Superbook team prayed over the sunday school teachers as they continue to serve and mentor their children. Superbook Malaysia would like to once again express our gratitude towards Good News Fellowship for their venue and partnership. We are looking forward to continue to serve and train teachers from our partner churches, to better equip them for discipling their children about God.
