“Don’t be jealous or proud, but be humble and consider others more important than yourselves.” Philippians 2:3
ACTIVITY: WASH, WASH, WASH YOUR FEET
How to play.
Prepare:
A bucket of water
Towel
Whiteboard & marker
Chair
Play:
Prepare a bucket filled with water.
Let each child and parent take turns to sit on the chair while other family members will wash his or her feet. After washing, wipe his or her feet with a towel.
Explain that this act of washing each others feet is to remind ourselves to be humble and think of others as more important than yourself.
Read John 13:2-4, 12-17 together as a family.
Say:
Jesus set an example for us by humbling Himself and washing the feet of His disciples. We are going to follow His example and take turns washing each other’s feet.
Each person will get to sit on this chair and let our feet be washed clean. The rest of us will take turns to wash the feet of the person sitting on the chair. Remember that this is to remind us to be humble. We want to always think others as more important than ourselves.

Discussion:
- What do you think Jesus wanted His followers to learn? (John 13:12-15)
- Do you remember what Jesus told the disciples when they were arguing about who was the greatest? (Mark 10:42-45)
- What are some ways we can serve other people and show them God’s love?
